The NSU football team got its season started off on the right foot with a 30-14 victory over the Texas A&M Commerce Lions.
The Purple Swarm defense powered the Demons' success Saturday night by scoring two of the four NSU touchdowns. They came on a fumble recovery in the end zone by junior end Josh Daniels in the second quarter and a 29-yard interception returned for a touchdown by free safety Gary Riggs.

When the Tigers take the field Aug. 30 against Appalachian State, redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Lee should start under center.
While he lacks the years of playing experience of his main opponent for the position, sophomore Andrew Hatch, Lee is clearly the best option for the Tigers if they want to continue the success of the 2007 season.
