This week marked a serious step forward for the student body of Nicholls State University. For the first time in a few years, students were given a choice as to who will lead both the Student Government Association and Student Programming Association. In recent years, student body participation in elections has not been large enough, which causes some candidates to enter office without opposition.
Dear Nicholls students, Construction of the recreation center continues to be a major priority for Nicholls State University. The University is again moving forward with the final stages of the design work and is updating the financing and operating plan for the facility.
Dear Nicholls Worth Editor, In regards to Alexander Barnes' letter, "Questions raised about candidate," in last week's publication, I would like to express my disappointment in Barnes' inappropriate tone and forward message. I expected more from his attempt to "give students a chance to make an educated decision," since Barnes is the president of the Student Government Association, leading representation for the student body and 2008 Mr. Nicholls.
Dear Editor, I am writing today in response to a letter printed in the March 19th edition of The Nicholls Worth by Student Government Association President Alexander C. Barnes. This letter was written with the expressed purpose of discrediting the candidacy of Ryan Donegan, who is running for the position of SGA President in the student elections.
Nicholls State punked all on-campus residents last week by administering a faux housing plan. While we were sharpening our axes and girding our loins, the dean and Ashton Kutcher were behind the scenes smoking stogies and chuckling at our naivety. Of course the new point system was just Nicholls' way of giving us a wedgie because it was April Fools Day! Actually, it's still March, but everyone knows you don't pull an April Fools gag on the actual April Fools Day.
