Student leadership seminar postponed
The fourth annual student leadership seminar scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until Oct. 10. For more information, contact the Office of Student Life at (985) 448-4525.
Tryouts scheduled for Nicholls dance team
The Colonelette dance team is holding tryouts for the 2009-2010 squad on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Lindsley Hall. Applications are available at www.nicholls.edu/perform. For more information, contact Eric Gueniot at (985) 448-4422.
Women and government to host hall of fame lunch
The Louisiana Center for Women and Government will honor four Louisiana women for outstanding public service on Saturday at a luncheon inside the New Orleans Hilton Riverside.
The hall of fame ceremony will feature the induction of Rosemary Ewing of Quitman; Phyllis Mayo of Baton Rouge; Anne Milling of New Orleans; and LilyB Moskal of Lafayette.
Mary Matalin and James Carville will deliver the keynote address. Matalin and Carville are married political consultants for opposite parties.
Location changed for Jubilee event
The Jubilee poster and program listed three events on April 3 as taking place at the Chauvin Sculpture Garden. The events have been moved to room 210 of Talbot Hall.
The three events are Heart of Fact: Rescue, Restoration, and Documentation of the Chauvin Sculpture Garden by Dennis Sipiorski, professor and department head of art at Southeastern Louisiana University, the Pilgrimage Experience at the Chauvin Sculpture Garden of Kenny Hill by Deborah Cibelli, professor of art, with a question and answer period with Rita Hermann, coordinator of the Chauvin Sculpture Garden and a book signing for Heart of Fact.
